What is the difference between Wild and Farmed Oysters?
Wild oysters grow naturally on the bottom of the water. Once they reach 3 inches or greater they can be harvested by licensed fishers using oyster tongs and a dory (this is the only approved harvesting method that harvest off public oyster beds).

Farmed oysters are different in that their environment is more controlled. The majority of farmed oysters are grown in cages that float on the surface of the water. They are grown on oyster leases by either businesses or private fishers.
